Exotic Animal Veterinary Services by Boot Road Veterinarian Clinic

Dr. Bob has owned these incredible animals most of his life and has an in-depth knowledge of their special needs. Whether it's a new bunny or an established family member, Dr. Bob can help!

Rabbits are becoming extremely pupular as companion animals, and they are frequently cared for at Boot Road Veterinary Clinic.  Dr. Bob will examine your rabbit and offer you expert guidance on how to care for your pet. Rabbit care is much different than for other animals.

  • Rabbit Diet: Rabbits require a high-fiber diet. Dr. Bob will discuss with you available feed options for your rabbit to meet their dietary needs.
  • Ever-Growing Teeth:  Rabbits' teeth grow throughout their lives, so as part of your rabbit's checkup, Dr. Bob will examine your rabbit's front and back teeth and point out any dental abnormalities that need to be managed.
  • Rabbit Behavior:  Dr. Bob will discuss your rabbit's behavior with you so you know how to make sure your rabbit feels comfortable and happy.
  • Handling:  Dr. Bob will show you how to properly handle your rabbit, as these animals have very delicate skeletons that can be easily damaged by rough or improper movements.
  • Rabbit Medical Care:  Dr. Bob offers complete medical care for rabbits for conditions as slow eating, skin problems, and respiratory problems.  He performs surgery on rabbits including spays and neuters with safe anesthesia.

Dr. Bob will do his best to make sure you and your rabbit understand each other and have a long-lasting relationship.

When poultry visit our office, they are given the same treatment as any other animals with a complete physical exam. Dr. Bob can help you with husbandry, shelter, proper diet, and safety.  Poultry are prone to predator attacks, so a safe habitiat is extremely important.

All species of poultry are welcome at Boot Road, including but not limited to chickens, ducks, quail, pheasants, ornamental and exotic specifies, peafowl, swans, and all kinds of water fowl.

We can also help with the treatment and management of neonatal poultry.  Baby chicks and ducks require specific feeding, care, and environmental conditions starting on day one so they can survive and thrive.  Dr. Bob can assist with all of these aspects of poultry rearing.

Dr. Bob has been involved with these birds for over 30 years and is very competent with their medical care.  He can help you manage their care and husbandry as well as any medical issues that arise.  Pigeons and doves are overall very hardy birds, but they are prone to repiratory and intestinal issues as well as flight-related trauma, since they are very powerful flyers.
